Began his career working on television series including Chibi Maruko-chan and Crayon Shin-chan. Known for his free, unconventional drawing style and dynamic visual direction, widely recognized both within Japan and internationally. Co-founded the animation studio Science SARU in 2013, and established ame pippin, Inc. in 2025.
Best known for Mind Game, The Tatami Galaxy, Ping Pong the Animation, and Inu-Oh.
